    Canvas Repair

    Next on the list is canvas repair, i have a little rip on front corner of canvas were draw string was sewn in as you can see in photo



    Can anyone give me a rough idea of what this would cost to fix and if anyone can recommend a good canvas shop in Adelaide, also i will need to replace entire canvas soon how much would getting a new canopy made up cost?

    Canvas Repair

    RC110,

    My Perentie had minor damage to the canvas sleeve/tube on the drivers-side front corner; I'm guessing a scrape with a big branch at some time.

    My local canvas goods specialist in Newcastle, NSW - sorry can't help with knowledge of anyone in SA - removed the canopy, patched the sleeve with some camo canvas and re-installed the canopy for $90. Bloody good job too, you'd have to know it was there to see it.

    He also gave me an indicative price of $1200 - $1300 to scratch fabricate a replacement canopy of a simpler design in a heavier grade of canvas. The simpler design would probably be without the side windows, which I would have no problem with.

    Someone else on the forum recently posted photos of their new camo canvas canopy they had made for their RSFV (?) Perentie; they may be able to give you an idea of price also.

    At some time I'm guessing the ADF's stock of canopies may come up for auction also; would be worth keeping an eye out.

    Hi. I have been to the two Adelaide auctions but have so far been unsuccessful in my bidding.
    Some of the soft tops that I have seen there have parted company at the windscreen. Are these ones to avoid do you think or are they an easy fix?
    I am thinking about putting a roof top tent on mesh roof rack but have no idea as to whether this is feasible. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
