    LT95 oil seal

I have an oil leak at front output flange on LT95 transfer case- is it necessary to drain the oil to replace the oil seal.

Depends how low your oil level has got, I suppose.

The oil filler plug (and the expected level of oil in the case) is above the bottom lip of the oil seal.

If the box is due for an oil change, you might as well drain it, otherwise put the front wheels up on some ramps, pull the seal and if any oil comes out just top it up.

    oil seal part number

I went to change the seal today thinking i had the correct one in my spare bag of oil seals but it was about 10mm bigger. the one i removed has SU900579C written on it but i can't find anything on the internet with that part number. What's the correct part number so i can order one ASAP.

That is the original single lipped type seal, There is a replacement that is a double lipped one that does a better job. I am away from home at the moment and don't have access to my part numbers but I know it is either FTC4939 or FTC5258. Almost positive it is the first number. The other one is the replacement front diff pinion seal (double lipped also).

Are you sure it's FTC4939 as it's listed for LT230 gearbox not LT95?
