I have been having ongoing issues with rapid uni joint wear. Spoke to the local diff, propshaft specialist about it. The large unis used by land rover, not counting the later defender front shaft, are hardy spicer 1300 series. These uni joints have a max torque rating of 800ft/lbs if you use the hardy spicer heavy duty unis. If you use cheaper brands, they only have about 500ft/lb max torque rating.
The HD hardy spicer unis can be bought from most good bearing outlets, I pay about $40 trade for them, Repco or Bursons brands sell for about $35 trade and are of a far less quality.
Since replacing all the unis I haven't worn one out in nearly 8 months, compared to 1 about every 6-8 weeks.
Also rear 110 propshaft, Salisbury diff, is the same as 109 with rover diff, just make sure they are later large unis, not the early small or disco/defender unis. Later series 2 and 3 and RRC, early 110s had large unis, then disco defender etc went back to small unis

1300 series includes 1300, 1310 and 1350. They all have the same size needle roller bearing, which is what the first two digits designate, but they are further apart as the last two digits increase, thus the torque capacity (bearing capacity x radius) increases.
The larger unis you referred to are 1310's, the smaller ones are 1300.

I too am having an issue withe the rear uni on the Salisbury diff wearing fast. I have replaced it 3 times in 18 months. I must be a slow learner as I just kept on replacing with the same brand which is supplied by a local land rover specialist. I think from memory they where bearmach brand or perhaps Britpart, (cant remember as I threw away the packaging) Ill try the hardy spicer brand. Where are they available to buy?

got one from a local tailshaft shop. $55.00, obviously a far superior part than the cheap ones. There is movement in another one on the front shaft that i replaced last year. I think they were allmakes brand unis and they last only a week or so before they get movement in them.
we will see how long the hardy spicer ones last
