You could always come and look at the ones in Cheltenham being Auctioned next week
Hello,
I'm keen to know if anyone in the Sydney area would be interested in having a look at the April (assuming there is one) auction in Minto with me? I've been following the sales for some time and am ready to make a move on one. However, I'd prefer to pay for someone's time to ensure I get good value for money.
I appreciate that most are well taken care of, but I'd prefer to spend my money up front as opposed to buying a unit that is in less than better condition.
If anyone's interested, please chime in.
Cheers,
Neo

Hi Neo,
I'll be there, so I can have a look with you. I'll be going to the Saturday inspection day, probably in the morning. You can have a spin in my Perentie too if you'd like. No need to pay. If you need someone who REALLY knows Perenties, there are people you can pay to look at them for you.
There is a thread on REMLR that you should watch if you aren't already, that's where you'll find the good information on the auctions.
Dervish,
That would be great! I'll touch base with you closer to the auction. I'd really like to get one from Minto as it would already have a blue slip............
I just figure two sets of eyes are better than one. Also, figuring that you already have a Perentie, I'm sure you'd have a good idea of any potential pitfalls.
I've been following the REMLR threads as well, but not much mention of particular vehicles really.
Saying that, did you see the prices for the Minto sale that just ended? Looks like there was some serious bidding and that prices have gone up on these things?!
Cheers,
JRW
I have no idea what happened this round, but prices were up. Some lots the prices were just ridiculous, others were high, about two or three were "ok".
While having a blue slip is a little bit of piece of mind, I wouldn't rely on it much. I know a number of Perentie owners have had troubles off the bat. The blue slip basically means that all the lights work and that it can get up to speed sufficient for a brake test, not much else. I guess in these auctions where you can't even start the things up - let alone have a test drive - that's better than nothing.
I have certainly picked up some knowledge of what to look for, and as you're looking for one that's still intact I don't think we'll be interested in the same lots![]()
Sounds good mate, I'll touch base with you closer to April when that auction is announced.
Yeah, I'm not sure about the prices for this auction or why they were all high.
Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come!
Cheers!

I hope to attend the Minto auctions, I don't own a Perentie but do have the civvy equivalent and have been to a few auctions now for a sticky beak. Then again, I don't know much more than that they are green and I want one
Always happy to catch up with other enthusiasts...
Cheers Mark!
I'm planning to fly down from Northern Rivers and catch a train to Minto. It'd be great to catch up on the day if you want.
Cheers,
Ronnie
I wouldn't mind picking the brains of an Isuzu-guru either.
