I think it's almost exactly the same spot.
The outlet flanges on both turbos line up with #2 exhaust port pretty well. So fore/aft is the same.
Vertically I also believe there is little difference. You are looking at two very different cross-over pipes which is why the angle of the compressor housing is different.

Both turbos seem to have a straight line between the air cleaner and the compressor intake, so this does not seem to be the case.

Either way it seems like a huge amount of work for little or no benefit.

Which one you choose I guess is down to what you can find and how you want to fit things in your engine bay. I have this later type as it lines the turbo up with my intercooler (and it was what I could find at the time).

While I have the later 'puma' style bonnet without the WTA intercooler over the head you can fit a turbo under the bonnet with the high type manifold.

Has any member used this type of manifold in their perenties? Do you need to cut a hole on bonnet? I'm sourcing an exhaust manifold from CHINA, and have found this type for about 40 AUD. I haven't found the one mentioned by Murray so far.:(
