    Lift in a Perentie

For suspension lifts over the common 40-50mm in a Defender, many sources recommend fitting a Double Cardan front driveshaft (from a Disco) to reduce driveline vibration. To do so usually requires changing the front output flange on the LT230 case.

However, in a One Ten/County/Perentie does the large LT230 flange fit the splines on the LT95 transfer case? Does it physically fit, noting that the vacuum diaphragm for the CDL is quite close to the small front flange? And is the driveline geometry significantly different between the LT230 and LT95, so that a DC front shaft is not needed?

Pretty sure the LT230 output is fine spline whereas the LT 95 is coarse.
If you want to fit a DC shaft, get one custom made from Tom Woods that will fit the standard flange.

Not to answer your question, but I am very happy with the two Tom Woods uni/uni shafts on my lifted County.
One major benefit is the shafts are made to measure, if you read your tape measure accurately then the shaft will be perfectly made to suit your application, with longer splines, large angle yokes and so forth as required/desired.
If my FFR has shaft problems (it has brand new shafts anyway) I wouldn't think, i'd just get another pair of Woodies...

Correct there Steve, the LT230 is fine spline. Other than a custom made one the other way to go if you wanted to fit a DC shaft would be to use a Stage 1 DC driveshaft and front output shaft and housing from the LT95 fitted to that model. It has a longer snout for the larger drive flange to clear the vacuum actuator.

303gunner - I've got a stage1 housing and flange here if you want to go down that route. PM me if you want to discuss.

if your perentie is other than an RSV based varient.

    dont worry.

Dig up the parts listing for the RSV and order those suspension bits and follow the extra mod work that got done to make it fit.

a 2 inch lift on the ffr/GS variants isnt going to make a noticable difference in the vibration department....

    Body roll however...

I'm more curious as to why you'd want to lift a perentie, suspension travel is not normally the first limiting factor in the vehicle.

I would have thought that it would be to get the front bar up a bit,so that it could clear something higher than a suburban gutter.
