Just brought a 110 land rover cab chassis. Seems in good order, but time will tell.
It's a 4bd1 aspirated 5 spd with a/c.
Not sure why I got it yet, maybe to strip and wreck, or maybe repair to drive. Maybe get it back and look at it for a bit and see where it ends up. Starter and engine stop sol need repair.

You are correct it is a 120. I saw a bit behind the cab that did look a bit different.
It's a factory car, 2 owner no mods. Other than a old style alloy bull bar. 1985, 5th month off the top of my head.

IIRC, it should have the Santana (LT85) box in it.
If I understand what I have read on here it is the stronger of the 5 speeds of that model . Is that correct.

Just be warned, if you strip and wreck it there may be communal tears....
The engine stop solenoid is a pretty simple bit of kit, except the smart kid at LR decided to put it in a watertight vinyl bag with a hole at the top to let water in
Pretty good chance its just rusted solid like the one on Spozz's 110: theTurdis110
Remove the motor casing complete with the armature, and then give it a good go with some penetrene etc, leave it for a couple of days and slowly wriggle/soak/repeat until the armature comes free from the case. The one above had the end of the armature rusted into the bush in the case. Eventually came free and cleaned up OK. It didn't need force - just patience.
Repair the case with some epoxy putty etc and then put it back together.

Yes the LT85 is quite strong, though Ashcroft claim the last of the R380s were stronger. The fact that Psimpson7 and others have destroyed them behind puny TD5s in light vehicles seems to disagree with that.
Many on here will try and tell you the LT85 can't handle a 4BD1/4BD1T, however most of them haven't owned one.
