rear propshaft length
I was wondering if the rear propshaft on the county isuzu with LT95/85 are the same length. The reason i ask the county i just got was originally LT85 but now has the LT95 RR 4-speed fitted - I wanted to remove the handbrake drum(smaller RR drum) to see inside because the handbrake doesn't work -anyway when i removed all the prop nuts i couldn't slide it off the drum flange bolts which didn't seem right-i would have thought there'd be enough movement in slip joint to compress the shaft to slide it off without having to remove the diff end as well?

It's not locked up on the grease is it. Try taking out the nipple and see if that helps. Not sure of lengths sorry.

Id also bet its locked up on the splines. Try dropping it from the diff end so you don't have to get it over the studs at the handbrake.

To a degree it is, the grease will travel up the splines. Might be a bit of wear on your splines but you should be able to check it.

They should be the same length. I swapped the tailshaft on my County (LT85) with one off a Perentie (LT95). They were exactly the same length. Front drive shafts are a different length though. I've found every time I've removed the rear tailshaft I've had to also disconnect it at the diff end to get it out easily.
