Plenty of info here, look into the legalities before your dive in.

Do it, you'll never look back. I've just converted my ex-300tdi Defender to Isuzu power and it's perfect; the Defender that Land Rover should've made. No more struggling up hills or holding up traffic.

In fact, given the cost/ease of the conversion I can't understand why anyone would buy a Puma (gotta be careful where I say that).

IIRC you dropped your 300tdi D'fer body onto a Perentie chassis??
Having done an actual engine conversion, I'd say the body swap would be a much quicker/easier (and possibly even cheaper) option.

    Just a pity they didn't make a 130" Perentie

Yeah, I did a body swap rather than an engine conversion. It seemed to be the sensible way to get what I want - didn't even need to see an engineer (checked with one to be sure though). Whichever way you go, there's no doubt that now is the time to do an Isuzu conversion with all the Perentie wrecks about.

I agree, it is a shame that the conversion can't be done the way I did mine for 130s.

...6 years since the original post and mudder's 2014 Xmas is ruined!

Mudder, did you read the entire post? Re-read blknight's post...he's a frustrated lawyer, read the small print...hopefully you'll have a better new year.
