alternators Perentie 110 and stage 1 + a/c

Looks like you are going down the aircon route in your Perentie which is the same as I intend to do in the future. I have done a bit of research into under dash units, fixing positions etc. The information you are getting on this post will help me as well but if I can be of any help with yours please let me know.

Thanks for that, the housing I'm thinking about is almost a standard Rover housing, but with a fabricated hat instead of the usual pressed type over the front and crownwheel.

The generator mounts to the top of a bracket like this one. The generator bracket is very similar.

Hi Guys I just fitted the same mount to my 4BD1T on a 6x6 landy ,Had to cut the 24 volt genny mount to get it in place. The aircon compressor bolted on with 2 bolts and has a idler pulley to tension the belt .. Had to make the front pulley, all worked fine..

It seems that you've had to move the mount a long way forward for the A/C compressor?

Personally I've had a bit of luck recently, as we know I'm fitting a Perentie FFR engine to my Defender 6X6 but the engine didn't have the 12V alternator or the idler.

To my shock horror, the bracket that bolts to the engine to hold the rest of the idler/adjuster assembly for the 28V alternator was quoted at a few dollars under $2,000, using the one off my 110 FFR (48-852) as a template a mate made one in a little over half an hour. :D (Thanks cookey)

The rest of the idler components cost under $300 for the lot new.

A couple of weeks ago I was helping a mate move a SIIA GS 109 from Oberon to St Albans and we popped into a bloke en-route to pick up some Perentie bits for his 110. Standing there while my mate and the vendor were getting the components, I spied a Perentie FFR rolling chassis with the 12V alternator attached. :) Now for a few dollars and a Defender ute cab off my 6x6 I now have the 12V alternator and mount and also a cam net rack missing from 48-852. A worthwhile trip I thought! :cool:
