    alternators Perentie 110 and stage 1 + a/c

I have a Perentie FFR engine sans alternator(s) which I wish to fit to the civvy 6x6 with a/c on the 24v mounting.
Are the 12v alternators on the FFR or 110 County with a/c the same as the other Perenties or the civvy 110/stage 1 Isuzu?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

No. From memory the county alternators were Nippon Denso with a slightly different mount and pulley to the Perenties. Perenties used a higher output Hitachi. I don't know about the stage 1.

Interesting how you make a post like the original above and a couple of hours later you get a message that so and so is making a batch of brackets for something else. In the same area but not related to alternators at all.

Its a bit like 6 degrees of separation.

Strange how you find out who's watching AULRO.

On the alternator issue. Looks like I'll have to do a little bit of investigation on 48-852 and see how the alternator fits up, I suspect there is something missing from 49-353s engine that I'll have to replace.

If you have both engines measure the length of the mount or the space between the alternator legs.

Not a big issue but the socket on the back of each alternator is also different.

The space between the legs on the alternator from a stage 1 engine and also a truck engine are the same.

The only bracket left on 49-353s engine is the mount for the 24V alternator which is bigger than the space between the legs of the two alternators I have. So I'm thinking there is an alternator mounting bracket missing. The problem is that my running Perentie (48-852) is at someone else's house while they change the exhaust and springs on their RRc so I can't just go and measure it.

In regards to the plugs, the Defender was V8 so all the wiring will need to be hybridised for the 4BD1-T, joining the alternator into the scheme will just be another job (although I will still have some of the Perentie engine harnesses, even though the rolling chassis departs tomorrow)

While we're at it, I'm under the impression that the 24V alternator mounting bracket on the FFR Perentie (the one that the bands bolt onto) is actually the same bracket that is used for the A/C compressor on the County 110.

Is that true or did I just make it up?

I'm pretty sure the AC compressor bracket and 24v generator bracket is the same. Probably obvious but the alternator sits above the generator.

Ok. I think I understand. You are probably looking at a bracket like below which appears to have an upper and lower pivot point.

The generator mounts to the top of a bracket like this one. The generator bracket is very similar.

Below is an RPS pic of the separate alternator mount.

Stage1 alternator bracket was a low mount one, and the leg spacing was about 100mm.
On mine, I replaced it with a mount from a truck engine which suited the narrower leg spacing (about 89mm), but also positioned the alternator higher on the block so I could mount an aircon compressor below.

My compressor mount is a fabricated construction that came from a truck. Appears very aftermarket....

I just noticed your sig line. What does an RFSV front axle look like?

    Anything else different inside?
