    Adapting the R380 to 4bd1

I had a bit of trouble finding info so I've put it together here
    I previously had a lt95 in my 85 county
    I decided to use a td5 74A ******L using a tud102580 tdi pinion shaft which I swap out
The mod uses a modified lt85 bellhousing this part was done by KLR automotive the back is cnc out and a r380 bolt pattern plate pressed in and welded
I had to make a clutch push rod using a holden 186 valve push rod it's total length is 166mm
Ayg3463 is the lt85 clutch plate I also used a exedy pressure plate nsc616tf
A modified sigot is also required see pi

I used a 200 tdi seat base it needed I slight mod
    Lt 77 tunnel

    Lt230 handbrake lever

Something to be aware of is fly wheel thickness mine is 33 mm which is getting thin you have to make sure the clutch plate has enough spline in it

Well I've got it all together this morning. Got a few small issues lt77 tunnel has to go not enough clearance for cold morning isuzu starts plus the gear lever doesn't line up that well .I've got a 300 tdi tunnel which has more room for sound proofing underneath and should line up better .so off we went for a drive general observation *1st gears lower- good (than lt95 .996) I'm using 1.222 transfer *quieter even without much insulation *the shift is great (syntrans)*4th goes to 90 km/ p/h without reving to hi which I'm not sure about I thought long and hard about this whether to go the .1003 transfer but the one I have is the lt230r old rangey auto one it would give very close to lt95 gearing but with 5th but first I thought might be to hi (r380 1st is 3.692 hi than the lt95 ) I wish they made a 1:1.1transfer😜 any thoughts ???? But overall it's pretty dam good

Me too, it would be about the ideal. That said, I'm currently running a 1.003:1 LT230R and like it because I can cruise at whatever speed I want in 5th, dropping back to 4th to avoid stressing the layshaft on hills. I have no idea if that is necessary or not, but I think it's good practice. 4th is good to about 105km/h comfortably (2500rpm), so not much speed is lost.

First is high with the 1.003:1, but I only find that a problem in traffic - which thankfully since moving to QLD I don't have to deal with any more
