It has the little round plate with the bolt in the middle. At the end of the intermediate shaft
Pretty sure it does, I had to cut a bit off the PTO cover plate to get it to fit. So whatever is there isn't standard ;)

Hi jock that box was from a vehicle that was as far as i remember using a ritter (?) taper roller kit which some say was better than the military one but i haven't heard any fors or againsts that add up personally. I was not aware that they (ritter) did any other ratios than .996:1 ?

Hmmm turns out his is a 1.113, second one i have heard of lately in this ratio being a taper roller jobby
Same as RFSV box. I had one of these for a few years. I didn't find it too bad. The .996 box is better for cruising speed.
Anyone know what the differences are between the Ritters TR shaft and the "Army" style?
Can you use gears from one setup in the other?
Steve
I have a ritters one here in a box but have never had a real close look at it Steve. I think the gears may be the same as the army type but the shaft and bolt are different. They must have made them themselves. From the outside you can tell the difference by the small bolt instead of the large bolt that secures the army one.
With a bit of luck the gear on the intermediate shaft will be the same as the army type one (FRC9392 is the part number). Otherwise a normal roller bearing one can be modified by your machinist to accept the tapered rollers. Finding the gears is not a problem, they are readily available - I am pretty sure I have both types here in 0.996 plus the small gear for the centre diff.
