The pump never arrived - lost in the mail. The vendor has just asked if I want a different (unknown) brand sent out instead. Since that probably won't arrive by the end of the week now, I think I have no choice but to ask for a refund and go buy the OEM isuzu one as the only day I have left to install it is this Sunday and after work Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday night will be packing and Thursday we leaving (supposedly in the County) for 2 weeks. :eek:
I'll do some calling around, but whichever brand I get, I need it this week. Maybe I can still get the cheap one somewhere local, although the Isuzu dealer is looking like a very simple option right now!
I'd get on the phone first thing in the morning and make sure your Isuzu dealer has one. They seem to keep most of their slower shifting parts in Melbourne and need to overnight them to wherever you are.
They recently had to overnight me an engine oil sump plug gasket from Melbourne to Brisbane:o.

Just checked Supercheap and they have 4 pumps listed from $100 - $215 so if you get stuck, that may be an option for you.
To find them, go to parts selection by vehicle, enter in 1989 110 and it will bring up the 3.9 Isuzu
Yep I see them. They're all wrong. None of them will fit. The catalogue for all the aftermarket brands show photos. Each brand has a photo of their own pump and they all have the wrong orientation of hose fittings.Quote:

That's actually the pump I originally ordered going by photos alone (PWP3003). But changed it after seeing the catalogue listing....

I received a PWP3003 and at first glance it is exactly the same but has no where to connect the heater hose. You would have to drill and tap a thread for the hose barb. There are a few other aftermarket brands with the same part number format xxx3003. The photos of them all look the same so my guess is none of the aftermarket parts are a straight swap but maybe some have the thread and some don't.
I'm giving up and ordering a $400 Isuzu one on Monday.
BTW according to the Isuzu dealer in Dandenong: 8944398521 = 8943768550 = 8943768551.
8943768551 is technically the latest.

at the end of the day, the water pump is pretty important and $400 for a genuine Isuzu part isn't toooooooo bad.
Not sure what coolant you're running/planning to run in it.

Some aftermarket manufacturers are making parts and putting part numbers on it for the wrong usage.

I Wouldn't mind contacting Protex and telling them that their part is wrong and show them what they actually need to make.
