    new Isuzu county owner

I'm the very happy owner of this countyimage.jpg
We did our first small trip in her on Sunday nothing crazy but most of Sunday spent on unsealed roads.
It went great and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! However I have a few thing to rectify before installing the turbo.
The oil filter is housing is leaking..... Which was just repaired for the rwc😡 And I have been looking for info on converting to twin spin on truck oil filters. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
I have heaps nore work investigation to do but this is my first small hurdle
    Thanks

No big advantage in changing to spin on ....the drain plug on the side of the housing makes draining simple as

Do you know how the leak was stopped for your rwc?

A leak in this location can be from:

    (1) the housing ?, ( gaskets, connections, drain plug), or,
    (2) the filter canister leaking at the base ? ( incorrectly installed / damaged O ring), or,
    (3) the pipe from the filter housing to the oil cooler behind the filter ? ( aged O rings)

Each has its own staightforward fix and if you can identify where it is we can give you more details if necessary

Let us know how you go

Thanks. I had assumed those truck oil filters would be less likely to leak but I'm known to be wrong a lot... Just ask my missus😮
I'm pretty sure it's the o-ring in the canister. I got a spare and a new filter from the old owner. (Pete Land864&#128077 So I might swap it Over later in the week and see how we go
    Cheers

If it is that particlar O ring, the correct size replacement comes with an Isuzu 1-87810220-1 . The O ring supplied with a Baldwin filter isn't the best size to fit. When you take the canister off you will note that there is a groove for an O ring in the base. This needs to be thoroughly cleaned (use a small cotton bud on a stick to finish up if necessary). The O ring obviously needs to be carefully fitted into the groove.

Replace the other O rings in the kit as appropriate

If you want I can measure the size of the correct O ring

Again - lets know how you go

    Congrats!

I changed from the paper filter to the spin on type and got the parts from nugget. ( nugget stuff home )

There is nothing "wrong" with the factory type however I find the spin on ones are just so easy and available at any SCA, repco etc and take 1min to change. I'm told by people smarter than me that the two filters with the bypass is better for the engine but lets be honest you'll have to replace the rest of the landrover twice before you have engine problems anyway so that is almost moot.

If you don't have the right engine you have to drill a 10mm hole in the block, I would imagine that you would have to remove the sump, cheers Dennis

    Thanks guys.
I replaced the oil filter and the o-ring and it appears to have fixed the leak. 😀 Going to take her out for a couple of hours, I'll see how it holds up when I get home
    Cheers
