    Front prop shaft question

Hi, I have the option of buying a slightly accident damaged perentie. The bloke that owns it bought it from the auctions in its current state and has it on his farm. Apart from some light panel damage it seems to be in good order.

The main concern is that he bought it missing its front prop shaft. He speculates that they may have pulled it out of the damaged truck to put in another. I’m wondering if I should be suspicious of a damaged transfer case or front dif.

I’m not mechanically experienced (yet!). Can anyone give advice here? Don’t want to buy a money pit.

    Thanks,

    Conor

If it drives with CDL engaged than t-case should be OK

And CVs+diff should be ok too. So maybe just a broken axle or drive flange if anything?

Sounds like I shouldn’t be too worried about an expensive fix then. Digging around the web, a prop shaft will be $350ish. How much would an axle or flange be if that ends up being the problem? Thanks for your help.
