    4BD1T engine swap?

Has anyone ever swapped/replaced their 4BD1T for another engine? Cummins 4BT? I am having no luck finding a good 4BD1T here! Any advice?
    Thanks!

Anything is possible, but it would be a big and costly project.

    Where is here?

I don't suppose there are a lot of smaller Isuzu trucks (not pickups) with the 3.9 litre Diesel engine in Alaska.

Can you import an engine from the lower 48?

For which model Landie is the swap needed?

Thanks all. Yes, Alaska. I've decided to rebuild the 4BD1T, as a reposer/engine swap would be on overwhelming job. It's slim pickings here.

Seeing you are after a turbo version can we assume you have a 6x6 or have either replaced the standard engine with a turbo or added a turbo to it?

I just googled the engine in the US and while nothing comes up for Alaska there would seem there are quite a few in wreckers in other states - about $3000 no exchange seems to be close to the price for a supposed runner.

I'm guessing that you do not understand how far Alaska is from the lower 48.

Nevermind paying $3000 for a used engine is insanity.

^^ At least he wouldn’t have to pay import duty on an engine from the lower 48.
