    Aircon belt tensioner.

I'm looking for the idler/belt tensioning pulley that goes on the 4BD1 for the aircon. Is this part specific to Landrovers or is it also on the isuzu trucks with this engine? Any ideas where i might get one? The picture show what is left.

    Cheers WR.

My 4BD1-T is out of an Isuzu truck. The idler on it is nothing like the one in your piccie.

Hey John, any chance of posting a pic of your idler, mines the same as WR's, standard Rover I guess.......not a real good design, in fact a PITA, but it is rebuildable-and cheap as long as you have the original parts......

1103.9Tdi do you reckon you could post a pic of yours too? I don't even know what the bit I'm missing looks like. I have found a place with one but i don't know that it is worth the money they want. $130.

Mines pulled apart at the moment. I couldn't put my hand on the actual idler pulley, but here are some pics of the bracket.

The bracket bolts to the left side and front of the block.

The compressor bolts to the 4 ears on the bracket.

A spindle for the idler goes in the long slotted hole. A long adjusting screw behind the slot, screws into the spindle for the idler (adjusts the idler position along the slot).

I'm in Darwin for the next two weeks at least, so no access to my County, but when I get back, sure......thanks for that John, certainly is a completely different setup to what I remember is on mine, looks like it is easier to adjust. Maybe have to add it to the ongoing shopping list........
