4BD1 Converision to 1995 130"
Has anyone does this before?
I have a 130 Dual cab currently fitted with a 300 TDi and original R380 Box, done 425 000 k's.
As you can guess the 300 TDi is getting worn out (injector pump going)
I also have a Sereis 3 Stage 1 with a isuzu 4Bd1 (non turbo) with the LT85 4 speed which i'm going to to put into the 130".
My question is how the new engine mounts fitted to the chassis as I was told that the defender chassis is high tensile and I shouldn't weld it, have considered making brackets and securing them to the inside of the chassis by bolting it to another plate on the outside of the chassis rail. Also I have been advised that the R380 gearbox won't last as I'm going to be towing 3000 kg van with it. I intend to fit a turbo when one comes up.
Any other hints would be very much appreciated.
