The model number on the VNT turbos is usually on a machined flat on the compressor cover (cold side). I've owned three and still haven't installed one.

Interesting IC set up. I assume you have the scoop on the bonnet, how's that working?

They were intended for my 4BD1T.
The first one was a GT2052V from an audi. Unfortunately it had a damaged exhaust wheel (looked like the engine spat something out), so after pulling it apart to see how it worked I sold it for parts.
I bought another GT2052V similar to the other one also for parts. It was cheaper to buy the whole dead turbo than to buy an actuator can and bracket. This one was seriously lunched, the exhaust wheel and shaft were missing and had taken out most of the vanes on the way.

The one I currently have is a GT2256V from a mercedes 2.7L V6 diesel. I've had it for about a year but for various reasons haven't had the time and workshop space to install it yet.

For the next person planning a budget install, here's a smoking deal on the manifold.

    turbo setup

mate you have done a great job its amazing how chaep you can set one up and go just as well as a top notch job

a couple of things i would like to point out the pipe from the waste gate actuator is connected to that breather thats what ive done on the last 3 conversion i did but i found that 2 of the conversions that pipe is a fake and doesnt actually go into the intake so i just ran a drill down it to make it work

the other thing the spot you are going to put your egt sensor is not the most acurate spot it shot be in the exhaust just after the turbo i just weld the correct size nut on to the pipe and poke it through, the reason it has to be there is it get a lot hotter as it goes through the turbo due to the restriction

i would love to here how it goes with that turbo as they are dim a dozen

i found you can turn the fuel screw 2.5 turn that will get you fairly close then adjust from there with the pyro

I'm afraid you have that backwards.
The exhaust out of the turbo is colder than the exhaust in. If you're tuning your engine based on downstream temps, then there may be some bad news in store for you.
