    Sump Gasket

I went to Gilbert and Roach to pick-up a new sump gasket for the 4BD1-t today, they recon that 2 gaskets are needed and inner p/n 5113670640 and and outer p/n 8971261490, fair enough but $100.00 each, sounds a bit steep to me.

Does this sound right or am I being treated as sucker of the day.

I've got some brand new ones sitting in a box. Make an offer.

I simply silicone the sump to the block, my way of maximising axle/sump clearance.
It should make things louder this way, but I haven't noticed. I did coat the sump in underseal at the same time.

Give Peter and Cristina a call at Range Parts on 02 9896 2355 tell them Justin from Tweed sent you and get a price on a gasket for a Perentie.

If you change from the double rubber gaskets to paper or silicone, you will have to get different bolts to hold the sump on. The bolts with the double rubber are shoulder bolts made to the exact length so they don't crush the gaskets when you do them up tight.

Just found my receipt. I paid $245 for the 2 rubber gaskets from a genuine Isuzu dealer 18 months ago. I think I will change to paper next time. A hand full of new H/T bolts wont cost $245.
