Gday everyone are there any common niggling/serious problems with a 4BD1 Isuzu motor ? did they change anything after a certain date ? like the revamped td5 after 03..
is there anything to look out for in particular ?

its almost as bomb proof as you can get it, it was done and it was done right.
the thermostat and cooling systems will be your second biggest headache the first being the hand priming pump and the strainer in the banjo bolt of the lift pump that it seems only myself and a handfull of other mechanics acknowledge exists come servicing time.
oh, leave it to idle excessively and it will eat gearboxes.
