    clutch bits

I bought an isuzu stage 1 awhile back, it came in a few bits (box was out) and it came with a new clutch and flywheel. Anyway the clutch plate is a borg and beck 47810/47809 which apparently came in the 101 V8 (and a masarati) and the pressure plate is a Valeo brand but no part number on it.
So anybody no how i can find out what it is (pressure plate that is)? would the clutch plate be ok?
Oh and its to go infront of a 4bd1t.-

IRC the clutch friction plates are the same between 4BD1 and V8 (as long as they both have LT95s).

The T engines have a different spec pressure plate though, so I would be inclined to get a new one unless you can be 100% sure.

Nah, i'm gonna stick it in and see what happens. if it dies then i'll just get another. Matt is running the non T one and its going fine after plenty of heavy towing and wheeling (20,000+k)

    Ben,

The clutch plates are not the same between 4BD1 and V8.

From what I found out when doing my recent clutch change, The V8 clutch plate is 267mm diam whether with LT85 or LT95 gearboxes, the spline count is however different for each gearbox.

The Isuzu engined clutch plate is 275mm diam whether with LT85 or LT95, once again the splines are different for each gearbox but the OD remains the same.

    Not enough wheeling

Nice job carving out the engine mounts from the stage1, should fit well

Just a little more cleanup on them first

Hmm, thanks John. Will have to measure the one I got from JC then. Sure it says V8. Where did you get yours from?

Don't worry - yours should be the right one Ben. If you remember, I copied down the part number off your box when I was at your place comparing pressure plates, and got exactly the same friction plate as you. So unless the box has been swapped at some stage yours should definitely be 275mm

It was tricky to track one down, LR were useless, Exedy Clutches said it would have to be made (8 weeks wait), same story at Xtreme who could get one but it would have to come from Japan (similar wait time). In the end Stuart at Rovacraft Melbourne came up with the goods and flew one over to their Perth branch for me.

Thanks Jon, but now I am definitely confused, because I am sure it said V8 on the box... (need to check tonight).
