My engine number is 136015

Edit; 4BD1T Isuzu truck engine.

Isuzu recycle there engine numbers accross all engine types. As an example, the one engine number can give you several different models of engine - makes life difficult!

Are you after the "LR spec" versions of these engines or all variants of 4BD1? If you have an engine number can you tell if that was allocated to LR originally? The reason I ask is I think you'll find most guys who have 4BD1Ts will be ex-truck engines.

903254 is an early 3.9D (Stage 1) engine (engine is 1981 vintage)
748518 is an MY86 One Ten motor

From the info I have, the Army spec (Perentie) 4BD1's were not produced by the automotive division in Japan. The specification of 4BD1RBG & 4BD1TRBG only appear in the industrial engine side.

From what I can gather the industrial engines and automotive engines are two seperate divisions of Isuzu and have seperate production plants, parts catalogues, etc...

This is why, at times, it is difiicult to get information on these from the truck guys - they dont know anything about them!

I am putting together a quick reference parts list on the Perentie engines and am interested to see what, if any, are the differences between the truck engines.:)

You are correct as the Landrover Isuzu motors are industrial motors with differences in things such as the head, thermostat housing,oil pump,sump,breather setup,intake manifold etc. I am not sure if there are any differences in the fuel pump. The turbo motors fitted to military 6X6's are automotive motors.
