Well, the engine is back in and running, just after dark (which is not all that late at this time of year.
I find that this engine installation has altogether too many problems of access. Things like for example the starter connections - half an inch between the main terminal and the chassis, access underneath difficult because of the winged sump, access from above impossible because of the chassis.
Or the throttle connection to the pump - I spent at least half an hour trying to get the split pin in, and this was with the rigid section of the pipe to the aircleaner still off.
And if someone has the trick for getting the supply hose to the power steering pump on or off without a sleeve full of oil, I'd like to know it!
But it goes, no problems with a short run, but I will have to make sure there is no airlock in the cooling system.
And then I have to clean up the tools!
