Your other option is to fit an Isuzu 5 or 6 speed O/D gearbox with an LT230 transfer. That way you get a gearbox designed for the Isuzu engine and the benefit of extra gears to select from. A word of warning, make sure you get an overdrive box as some of the gearboxes have 1:1 in top not an overdrive.

There are a number of them around do a AuLRO search on Isuzu gearboxes.

Interested, think differential ratio's would be a lot easier for me ATM, but the option may be a more cost effective one.

Thanks that is another option, but as my daily driver, i cannot have it off the road for more than 2 days, so a custom gearbox conversion is out of the question. Also, i paid over 3k on getting the lt95 rebuilt, so i dont want to swap it for an isuzu box until it wears out.

It's rather difficult to go taller than 3.54 and even if you could you then lose your off-road low range capabilities.

An Isuzu box with LT230 could be something you have built while the LT95 wears out.

So...whats involved converting to an Isuzu box, ie...
Cost?
How does the T/fer case attach...Adapter?...where do you get it?
Much mods required to mount to chassis?
Is it good...if so why aren't we all doing it?
