    Crankshaft woodruff key.

This may end up a bit of a rant...

I need to buy a new woodruff key for the pulley... Thought it would be easy, but I must have forgotten that I live on the west coast...

Major Motors - the ONLY isuzu dealer in Perth, said they have none, and if I wanted to order one it was a minimum order of 10!!! They told me the only one in WA was at Kalgoorlie - at Goldfields truck parts.

SMS diesel said they have never stocked them...

Goldfields truck parts were very helpful - and gave me the dimensions - said I could buy one at any bearing place. How wrong they were - I went to maybe 20 bearing and other shops in Perth today... no dice. CBC bearings finally told me that they don't think anyone in Perth would stock them...

For anyone interested, I have the ISUZU PN - which I will post later. Dimensions are 10x10x22 mm.

Can you post the dimensions? Some of our machinery here uses various size woodruff keys so you could be lucky. I'd assume it will be metric.

Yes. The first bearing shop said coventrys fasteners would have it (had just bought some bolts there) - went back, guy behind the counter said no. don't have any., secretary about to leave said "yes we do" - pulled them up on computer. No 10x22, closest was 10x32 - then said, - they are all at coventrys automotive - which I couldn't get to till after closing time...

When I rebuilt my s3, i ended up getting some from a place that sell water pumping equipment etc,, irrigation gear,,,
You could also try somewhere like a Blackwods store,,, I have a catalogue here and they have quite a selection,,

There measured in imperial, I'll do my best to convert, but you'll need to double check,,
    I think its one of either a #12, 13, 14 or 15,,
    part #0833 9905, 0834 0102, 0834 0115 or 0834 0209,,,

They say a standard pack is 100 pieces, which is fine if you want lots,, but they might tell you who they distribute them to, (If you ask nicely) and you should be able to buy a single one from them,,,

The phone number for their headquarters is in Sydney,,(02) 9203 0111
They have offices in Perth, (08) 9311 6400
My books old,,so I cant say if the contact info's right,,,

    Hope this helps,,

Had a look in my metric kit this morning and none 22x10mm 10mm is bloody wide for a 22mm. Phoned our local engineer has none either. Also has no seal for my alternator

I will be working around a few suppliers today after this seal so will be no trouble to ask for a 22x 10x 10 woodruff key wile I'm on it. Let us know if you find one

Woodruff keys are usually a stock item made to laid down standard dimensions. Any DECENT engineer's suppliers should have them. Not hard to make one if you really have to. Any fitter would have done this or similar.

Best of luck with Blackwoods. They usually show you pictures and say they can get it in for you. Stock? Stock? What is that?

Sounds like an odd size to me. Maybe it is one of those non-standard items beloved by Japanese manufacturers to lock you into their exclusive and over-priced spare parts system. I take it your measurements are 10 thick x 10 high x 22 long? Neither of my Machinerys Handbooks give dimensions for any metric Woodruff keys.
