    Isuzu LT95 & LT85 Differences

I was asked in another thread to detail the above.
I am currently swapping out a LT85 (5 Speed) to a LT95 (4 Speed) from a V8 into an Isuzu. These are the differences.
    Bellhousing
    Clutch pushrod
    Clutch driven plate
    Clutch throwout bearing
    Slave cyl - I think
Gearbox mounts- unbolt - re bolt job
Vacuum line required for centre diff lock

These are the slave cyl/ pushrod differences
Top cast iron lt85. Lower one - pretty sure I was sold a series alloy one for my V8
    Shortest rod - V8 lt95
    Mid size LT85 Isuzu
    Longest LT95 Isuzu

There is a problem fitting the V8 slave cyl as it does,nt reach far enough into the bellhousing to fully engage the clutch.

Clutch fully thrown & below, the pushrod position

The cast flywheel housing is 15cm wide, so the slave cyl is in danger of popping out as its pretty well fully extended.

It should extend much further like this- the LT85

Looking at this pic out of the army manual, the Isuzu slave cyl extends further into the bellhousing.

    Can anyone confirm??

    Cheers, David

    Bellhousing
    Is that all??????????

Somehow thats all that came up the first time I looked at this post, just bellhousing.
Anyhow, to answer the question, same slave cylinder.Pretty sure the bellhousing is shorter on the 85. Also same throwout bearing I recall AYG3339............Brian

Im sure I used the same bearing when I changed mine over, Had a choice of a few and just swaped the extention over (From memory) Also had to cut the push rod down because I found out the hard way mine was too long, Didnt want to wait another two weeks for my next break to get the right one.

    Hi Albert,
Yeah you are right, the throwout bearing is the same. The manual I looked at last night was for the V8 LT85. KRAFT setting in as old age takes over. My apologies so AYG3339 for the throwout for both LT85 and 95...............Brian

Well, after fitting & removing the gearbox twice, the problem has been diagnosed.
The Isuzu bell housing I was sold was fitted with a series 3 pin on which the clutch fork pivots. Its 10mm shorter.
Therefore there was not enough travel with the throwout bearing. Its a one off & its hard to be critical of the guy who fitted it.

The slave cyl & throwout fork are the same on V8's Isuzu's 4 & 5 speed....
    But not the bellhousing pin

This thread would have been shorter if I did'nt keep finding differences !!
The 4 speed drive shaft is a bit longer. Lucky I still had the V8 one. Rear shafts are the same length.

Does a series 3 LWB have a shorter wheelbase than a county?
