Well the D2 body is significantly longer to start with...
1985 County - Isuzu 4bd1 with HX30W turbo, LT95, 255/85-16 KM2's
1988 120 with rust and potential
1999 300tdi 130 single cab - "stock as bro"
2003 D2a Td5 - the boss's daily drive
But the chassis is the same length. I spent some time looking of the d2 towbar would fit my rrc. I decided it would, but would stick out far too much.
I'm not sure if the rear body mounts are the same between d1/rrc and d2 chassis. But it's a relatively easy thing to modify.
The euro 3 4he1t has a mechanical injection pump wich has several features controlled by an ECU mainly an 18 second timing advance to control white smoke on start up .An idle increase to suit AC and another imput for when EGR is taking place When I was chasing an engine I was told it was electronic injection and would not run without an ECU which is crap as it does run and run very well![]()
I just measured mine up, I have a D1 and a D2 amongst all of the other automotive treasures here.
I didn't measure the chassis length, but the D2 chassis extends about 100mm further rearward of the axle compared to the D1. The D2 bodywork also sits further off the back of the chassis than the D1 also, with the D2 rear bumper having a crumple zone, where the D1 has the chassis almost in the bumper. I'm assuming the D2 towbar would sit 50mm further out if fitted to a D1/RRC.
Cheers
