    accelerator cable?

My accelerator cable (110 county) is frayed and sticking. Is it an ISUZU Part or a Land Rover Part?

Need a new one ASAP so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

    I think it's LR NRC5494 - at least that's the P/N for the Perenties.

A quick Google shows it up as the part for V8 Defenders (and, I assume, the V8 County).

The 4BD1 pumps are sprung to close fuelling if the wire breaks.

The problem with mine atm is the springs can't overcome the resistance of the frayed cable. So whenever if press the accelerator down it stays there...

    Ben,

I seem to recall you have a V8 County sitting in your garage... see if the accelerator cable in it is any good.

    Cheers Bojan,

    I already looked at it

It looks longer (but I haven't measured), and there is no threaded section on the carby end - so it seems like a non-genuine cable or a bodged replacement.

Rovacraft say they have one in stock.

Mine wasn't that bad, it was catching and not returning completely to idle, but it was slowing down.
    That was the first time.

The second time it broke and went straight to idle. Took a while to get off that (single lane) bridge.

The problem in my rangie is the bracket on the pedal flexes the cable where the head is. Modifying this to give more float will solve the problem.
