    That and they usually give a decent warning before failing. If your pre-trip inspection involves checking them all and they come up fine then leave the spares at home.

    I also run oil bath bearings. So I know they're well lubed.
    Actually its a really good idea to carry spare wheel bearings, they do fail mid trip, driving on a stuffed one, because they weren't worth carrying will screw the spindle.

    Yea, but when you get to the nearest town, you can use their facilities to fit the uni...........I do agree, I wouldn't be fitting a uni with a hammer
