    What is clutch shudder usually a sign of?

    Spigot failure, Oil on clutch plate, misalignment issues.

    Add to the above - broken clutch plate springs, loose clutch plate linings, loose or damaged or soft engine mounts, and probably a few other things that don't immediately come to mind.

    I would remove the drain plug on the clutch housing (if fitted) and see if anything interesting comes out. Also check engine and gearbox mounts for looseness or damage. Not much more you can do to diagnose it without pulling it apart.
