Nice one mate. I have similar plans for the wife's car. If you don't mind me asking, how much for the truetracs? What suspension did you go for? Oh and photo's are always good
.
I have owned my V8 1998 Discover 1 for just over a year now, I had put in a 2 inch lift and some secod hand 31 inch Cooper ST's, fitted a Bullbar and winch plus a set of Blackiron sliders - what's more I still had change from $6,000. Don't you just love EBay.
However all my mates had more modified vehicles and I was struggling to go where they would.
Thanks to this forum and some forums in the States I decided to bite the bullet and I ordered a pair of Truetracs from Bill at Great Basin Rovers for the trusty beast.
Took it out for the first time in anger today and I am wrapped.
We did some very testing steps and deep rutted clay, it was awesome!!!
I can't recommend these enough, they totally transformed my car off road yet the only difference on road is that the steering is a little more self centering, not a bad thing in itself.
My mate who I was out with today is a Pootrol fanatic and he just stood in amazement at how well we flexed and had traction to all 4 wheels.
Thanks to AULRO for getting me into a Disco in the first place.

SupporterI would suggest looking at these,
cheaper and better than the Truetrac :
Ashcroft Transmissions - Ashcroft ATB
I have an Ashcroft ATB in the front of my County, return to centre is quicker than standard as with the true tracs, otherwise I wouldn't know its there. Will use it in anger for the first next weekend. Must remember some left foot braking!
The machining is exquisite!

SubscriberThey look and are described very similar to the ATB from Ashcrofts, you will need to do your own sums once freight is included.
I will send you a PM with some details.
You will love them!
