I have purchased maps from Tombie, Bell auto Services (tombie is really just a reseller of Pete's work) and Td5 inside.

I have been very happy with all of them.

Your car should have a flasable ecu which means it can be remapped in the car if you can find some one in your district with a nanacom.

Thanks. I have a nanocom evo2 - albeit its new and I'm just learning the basics. I will PM/check with TD5 alive as I like to support aulro members.

I have a stage 2 TD5 Alive in my D2a and really impressed with it.

I have Jose's email somewhere, let me know if you want it.

Don't waste your time with a plugin unit, waste of time and money.

    Hi Andrew. Sounds good.
Q1 - any idea of price?
Q2 - yes please if email contact handy - otherwise do I check TD5 alive in UK?
    Cheers

Its also a good idea to fit an EGT gauge when you remap. Its very easy to send the manifold temp soaring with a careless right foot. I drive on the EGT gauge when towing.

    Chipping my TD5

Thanks for all the feedback/answers - that's what makes this a truely great site.

I'm going with the recommendations and getting my remap from TD5inside (from Portugal) using their AULRO special @ AUD340 in conjunction with using my nanocom.
    They also recommend
    (i) ERG blockoff
(ii) larger intercooler (even for an 04 D2a? - I thought they already had a bigger intercooler)

Any suggestions for the best places to get what I need - starting with WA, then other states, then only if necessary overseas?
    Cheers
    Gavin

    Hi Gavin.
As you have a flashable ECU, you might want to give Mark a call at Bayswater 4x4 (actually in Malaga - hmm) to see if his price is competitive.
Mark's good with diagnostics and fixed mine after my recent self-inflicted ECU troubles up north. A good thing about a local "flasher" is that you can test drive the goods before you decide. I've been in a Disco that he flashed and it was seriously evil, pulling strongly from stop.
Other bits like silicon hoses, EGR blanking plates etc are sold everywhere so prices are higly competitive.
Another thing... TD5 Alive provide K&N style filters with their upgrades and I bought one of these. But I've since been advised to keep using a paper air filter when out of the city. There's heaps of comment by mechanics on LR forums, too, who say the paper ones block sand better and prevent valve and bore damage.
Don't get me wrong, I found the guys at TD5 Alive to be really helpful but as I have a pre-NNN ECU, eventually I did the same as Dave and now have heaps more power and pulling grunt. Wish I'd done it years ago.
Whatever you choose, have fun with your reincarnated beast!
    Dan
