Dont use the GQ in the rear, there are a few on here that have done it and the vibration caused by the centered diff will drive you nuts.
Best compromise is GQ front and LC80 rear or LC80 front and rear .

Just been searching posts but not having all that much luck finding what I want to know.
Tinkering with the idea of running patrol diffs and associated parts on my defender 110 bobtailed ute.
I understand the rear will need modifying for the A-frame setup but what is involved in the front end?
Also how does the rear prop go with the different angle due to the diff center being in a different position to the original sals.
Also interested in running constant 4x4 still
Any other things that I need to be aware of would be appreciated.
At the moment I am just looking at the viability of the conversion
Cheers

The front end is very simple, all that is needed is to change the spring mounts.
The Gq uses a different diameter spring (can't remember if it is smaller or larger), once you change these it just goes straight in. You can use the GQ training arms which are stronger than the LR ones. You will have to get custom steering arm and panhard rods to fit.
80 series rear is the same change the spring mounts and weld on a centre bearing mount and stick it under the car.
Hope that helps

You can use the standard gq spring mounts on the front. You just run 80 series cruiser springs as they are the right diameter top and bottom to match the landie/patrol. Also you have to make shock mounts for the coil mount on the front diff. Or if you run a twin shock mount on the chassis I think the factory patrol spot should line up.
