    130 single cab into station wagon conversion

    Hey guys here to pick your brains.

    I have a 130 single cab soft top and I am planning to convert to 130 station wagon, with 5 doors! So what I need help with is where do I start? I need to know if anyone has ever converted a single cab into a double cab, and what parts would be required door posts ect. the back part is the simple part along with the roof.

    Any help, ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

    full custom built off-road expedition vehicles, exterior conversions of recreational vehicles - Mulgo Pty Ltd - Australia

    Basically you need:
    • a 110 Defender 3 door hard top and tub,
    • a 110 Defender station wagon roof,
    • a station wagon barn door.
    • 130 Defender dual cab "B" pillars and sill panels, rear side doors, floor panel, rear seat box and the panel behind the front seat box (could use same panel and doors from 110 wagon)

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    are there any good wrecking yards out there where I would be able to source the parts? I have seen the mulgo conversion, I am keen to do the conversion myself to keep the costs down.

    Easiest thing to do is find a 110 5 door county AND a 110 3 door county(or series3), and start un bolting. Roof would need a cut and fill but if you had 2 vehicles for parts that would make it easy.
    Oh where are you located, Australia is a rather large place.

    Hey thanks for the advice, I'm up in the Blue Mountains.

    I am not sure my wife would go for 3 landy's on the drive in bits!

    Anyone know of any wreckers?

    The closest wrecker to you is Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale, near Warragamba Dam. Gary Gjerdy (CLR) Winmalee also wrecks vehicles. Your other option is to buy a 3 door 110 or Defender yourself and take it to Brian D at LVS and swap the bits you don't need for the bits like the "B" pillars, roof and doors you do need.

    If you are real quick, I am about to modify the "B" pillars and door sills and in-fill panels from a 130 Dual cab for my 6X6 Defender. If you can find a white rust free pair of "B" pillars for a 110 wagon, we could do a trade. The 130 D/C "B" pillars and sills are the parts you need rather than the 110 sill which have a wheel arch where you need an in-fill piece.

    One of my B pillars has a slight bend that could do with a little straightening, but I am about to do that myself.
