its not rocket science, just find your local truck body builders, the kind that do all the sheet metal work for commercial trucks, trailer bodies etc. You should be able to get something pretty nice made up in Aluminium.

Chops, my 130 already sits on the wrong side of 2.5T. For this reason alone, it's gota be alloy. Weighing up the costs it might be cheaper to learn to weld aluminium though. Or find someone who does and will work cheaply for alcohol.

On a completely separate note: are the tyres on your rig in that pic 285/75R16's?? Old man just bought a wagon that needs new tyres and trying to work out which way to head

Uninformed: no one said it was difficult. Just that no one likes the price.

yes I got the price for importing a UK made one was high, but that is to be expected. Has anyone gone to sheet metal workes, truck body builders etc locally here and had it priced?

I had a top built for my 8x5 dual axle trailer, my design, 4 doors, 2 gas struts per door, good T handle insert locks etc for $2500.

Its funny how some people, dont have the time or skillset to do something, but can immediatly put a price on it, and want it to be high quality.

Uninformed: If the dollar value is X then the dollar value is X. And I will pay X dollars if I want it. Doesn't mean I have to like the price. In the same way people might not like the price of a new car or television.

I got one similar but not the same (sides lean in) And it's on a 130 tray, not a tub. Three lift up doors, aluminium $3000.00, but that was a few years ago now. Give these blokes a ring and find out.

Great price. There was a mob at the Brisbane 4wd show, who made tis type of unit $4550 they wanted for it, exactly the same as in the pictures here, other than in white, made of steel, it did not include any extras.

This type of product is fantastic for those who have tray body.

Not really suited for the HCPU, this why the nene one that cuts into the body is a great idea, and better suited for slide out fridges, and loading.

ok, so you are basicly saying you understand material cost, labour cost, cost of over heads etc, but still not happy....gees Id hate to have to put a smile on your face

Seriously though, it can come down to the leg work. It took me more time to find the right fabricator than it did to design my top and get it built. From min to max the prices doubled!
