Well, aesthetics are very much subjective, and the donor car is certainly no oil painting.
My query was, does anyone have any experience? The fabrication underneath is what's important, not how people think it looks. I am probably capable enough to mig up a structure that an engineer would pass ( with a little help from my friends ), but sheet metal and panel work in general is beyond me, so a body kit has some appeal.

Agreed, Roversmith's ute looks factory. The work he's done is however beyond me. Do you have a link to the LRA RRC kit you mention? At this stage I'm exploring all options I can find.

RRC/D1 are pretty much the same apart from the rear 1/4 panels so the kit will fit.

Know the feeling, but the SWMBO would crack the ****s if I brought another toy home.
Another one I saw in Sydney at the show a few years ago, looks brilliant IMHO.

Saw a D2 one in Horsham a few years back. Couldn't get a pic, but it looked great.

Apart from the shed and the $$$, another thing is which car? I have a RRC, a D1 300 and a D2 TD5. Decisions, decisions.
