    3 Link Front

I've been thinking about converting my front suspension to 3 link. I have Patrol diffs and I'm changing the front housing, I have to clean all the Nissan brackets off anyway, so I was thinking while I have a bare housing, I may as well do a 3 link conversion.

Anyone here run one on an RRC or D1?

My old hybrid ute, which had a rangie chassis, also had a three link front and a four link rear. The way the three link was done created a low point next to the diff where the center link mounted to the axle right next to the diff. It also created a wide area to hang up on. The link ends at the axle used standard rover bushes the other end used racing grade rose joints.

I had a good look at it yesterday and I think I have enough room for the top arm and mount to move up between the oil pan and the RHS extractor. I've already modified the extractor to clear the pinion as it used to hit and wore a hole through them.

jump onto pirate4x4 forums mate...there is a world of info on 3 and 4 link suspension systems front and rear. Even a number of threads on rover 3 links. If you are going to do your own, do your homework, and use the MS excel '3 LINK CALCULATOR' to wok out where is the best place for your link mounts in terms of getting a your roll axis, anti squat figures as best you can working around the constraints you have in the front end in terms of link placement.
