    I'd say it would come down to the driver. The thing is in manual you have a lot more control over revving the tits out of your engine.

    I had a 2004 XR6 Turbo manual, and would be beaten off the line every time by an auto.

    Even swapping cars, to eliminate "driver error" had no effect.

    The short answer is, the auto got the power to the ground quicker.
