It's a "Wartburg 311" they had 900cc two stroke engines that powered them along. Also had front wheel drive, 37hp, and leather seats were an option :)

A quality car........

Wartburg was East German and Opel was West German. After the Wall came down Wartburg closed and Opel acquired the factory (I'm not so smart - it's in Wikipedia).
