    hmm, I had the Aussie version, 1200 coupe, amazing little car with very little money spent to make them go like stink.

    Mine did 8000 RPM, had no idea what top speed was as it ran out of speedo in 3rd gear with still 1000 RPM to go on the tacho. Little bit of cam work, cleaned up the ports, dropped a couple of old Triumph Trophy carbies on her, she was the goods all right.

    1200 coupe and 510 were 2 totally different vehicles. The P510 (or Datsun 1600 as they were known locally) was available from the dealer in 4 door and station wagon. The 1200 could be had in 2 door, 4door, wagon and ute.

    Yep, and we were the only ones who got that little coupe with the A series engine, everybody else got it with the C 13 under the bonnet.
    Have seen one with a 2.4 litre twin cam shoehorned into it, that thing was insane.
