I've never had much luck with watches, they always seem to stop working. The current collection is 4 broken Seikos similar to Bushies, a 4 dial Swatch, an old Tissot and this one which actually works.

What is interesting with this watch is that SWMBO picked it up on the side of a remote walking track in the Flinders Ranges some years ago. It had been there for some time as the band was almost bleached white. New band, new battery and it's been going ever since.

Also a Timex is the old wind up watch I got for my 16th. birthday which is also still going (if I wind it up).

Also in my (broken) watch collection is this little ladies watch, its face is about 16mm round.

Perhaps some of the watch experts here can identify it properly. Seems to be an old Rolex (or a copy) but that's all I know.

A timely thread..........for me. Always been a fan of Seiko and here's my current and only 4th watch. Only drama is I can't read the time without my reading glasses! I think it's a contrast thing with the gold on blue.

    Here's mine

Rolex , Seiko kenetic, tissot, fishing bonuses from the 90's, I worked for myself after that so was to tight to lash out on a watch for a catch bonus. Lucky if they get worn once a year.
G-Shock gulfman, tide and moon phase as a daily wear watch, especially when I was fishing..

    BUT my favourite

First watch my wife bought me nearly 30 yrs ago and still going stong. That watch has been amazing its been submerged in acid, diesel and many other chemicals over its life, but other than faded colour its still going.

    Here"s some of mine,

I have an odd assortment of watches mainly sports type ranging from Citizen, Omega, Seiko and a cheap Slazenger that I use for daily use.

Deano H - are you able to safely remove the rear of the case. If its a genuine Rolex there ought to be additional information stamped there as well as on the movement.

If gold there ought to be hallmarks on the side of the case? If there are, how about some close up high res pics of that as well please.

My guess circa 1920's ladies 9ct hand wound watch.

Not going to be worth a fortune sadly (and that's if it's real), but a nice thing.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
