    My other ride

Well, I figured this might be of some interest to people who have a fascination with foreign cars like myself. Hopefully this is in the proper section. I scrolled through, but didn't see a forum marked "Other Cars", so I figured this would be the best place.

In addition to the Range Rover, my other set of wheels is a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. It really is nothing too awfully special, but I really like it.

Here are the awesome (LOL) specifications:
    Series III 3800 3.8L OHV V6
4T65-E 4 speed automagic slushbox, front wheel drive
Black Leather, heated seats, electric windows, locks, etc.
    Keyless Entry with Remote Start
    California (aka Eco-Nazi) Emissions
TOP SPEED: Electronically limited to 108mph, due to original equipment tires.

I was never originally a huge fan of this body style Grand Prix, but I saw this one in white with the black leather and fell for it.

My immediate plans (once the RR is done sucking my wallet dry) are to get the windows tinted, and get factory dual exhaust (just a Y pipe, but it's all about symmetry with me) and to eventually replace the front bumper cover with an OEM unit as the one on it now is aftermarket, doesn't fit right (notice the huge gap between it and my bonnet).

Like I said, nothing super special, but I like it, it's comfortable to drive, and it's only done 172k km, so it's still young!

    Ta. Thanks for posting
    You obviously didn't see here:
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/american-manufactured/

Any inside pics? That's the same motor we have here in out Commodore, although the Commodore is rear wheel drive.
In a few years, GMH will cease production of the Commodore. There is much speculation of what is to come. The Pontiac Grand Prix may be an indication of the type of vehicle we are to expect.

Ack, you're right, I looked right past it.

I'll ask a moderator to move it.

I'll get some inside photos today. The 3.8L is far from the most refined engine in the world, but damn if it's not reliable. I had a saloon car not too long ago called A Buick LeSabre that had a Series II (earlier gen 3800) 3.8, and it had 493k KM on the odometer when I sold it...I really wish I hadn't, because the car was in pretty decent shape, except where the tin worm had gotten a hold of it.

The closest thing we had to the Mondeo here in the states was the Ford Contour, which was not too great of a car. I was not a fan of them or their build quality.

Nowadays, however, the twin to the Mondeo is the new Ford Fusion, and my God that is a pretty car.

I always like seeing cars that aren't available in Australia no matter how good, bad or average they may be

This is the same attitude I have. I think that it all boils down to my love for most anything that has an engine and wheels. Hell, I'd drive a Morris Marina or an old Lada if I could get my hands on one, just for a laugh.

I have been trying to get some interior pics but the weather has been absolutely uncooperative. It's either been tolerable and raining, or beautiful and freezing. I did manage to get some photos of the Range Rover the night before last. I'll have to find a place to share those.
