Not the most popular set of wheels in town.....
Only a small volume seller and low performance due to weight and small side valve engine. Badly affected by rust and a restorable one would be hard to find.

I've ben lucky enough to work on some of these in the past.
The Bugatti 35B is a classic, without doubt. But my advice is to get some other sucker to T-cut the bonnet!
The Bentley blowers have to be my personal favourite. Must be in BRG of course.

As several have commented, Simca Vedette. Assembled in Australia from about 1957 - 60. My father owned one.

Ford sold their Vedette works lock, stock, and barrel to Simca in about 1956. The Vedette was the French equivalent of the English Ford Zephyr, but instead of a new engine as with the Zephyr, Ford France stuck to the side valve V8, both the V8-60 and V8-85.

When Simca took over they dropped the larger motor, and fitted alloy heads to the smaller motor, enabling a higher C/R, bringing the power output up to 85HP, same as the bigger engine. Going from 13" to 15" wheels enabled them to go from 9" to 11" brakes and move the lower suspension pivot out, and the less weight on the front wheels let them fit much faster steering. This transformed the handling and braking. At the same time it was restyled.

A bit larger than the contemporary Holden FB, it outperformed the Holden, and had an enormous boot. It also had nearly twice the fuel capacity, with about the same consumption.

We had it for twelve years, and it performed well. Quite good to drive by contemporary standards, gearshift suffered from the linkage added to get to RHD.

I'm rather partial to the 1962 Chrysler Valiant "R" and "S" series. No other model Valiant made after these two models looked anywhere near as good. In fact the last of the Valiants were ugly bloated barges on wheels. Except maybe for the Charger.

Befor it went into the container, he drove it to the North Melbourne rail yards where, at the time, The Flying Scotsman was visiting. He took a photo of it with The Flying Scotsman. It was a pretty impressive picture. I wish I had a copy of the photo.

I was looking to buy a R series Valiant a few years ago. I wanted something from that era with style. I ended up buying a Fintail Mercedes. It was a third of the price of the Valiant. Only goes to show how sought after these Valiants are.
