Interesting race, fair enough he was helped by Mercedes having ERS issues and Hamilton retiring, but a solid drive and a ballsy pass on Perez before catching and passing Rosberg to cross the line 6 seconds up.
Really pleased to see him reach the top step, might be the only time somebody who isn't in a Mercedes wins a race this year, but he definitely earned it.
5/2 up on Vettel in qualifying and a trio of 3rd places on the road.
Also nice to see Jean Alesi -another man who got his first (and only) win in Canada- although I hope Daniel has more to come I his career.

Looks like Red Bull might have made some good improvements to the car too
Ricciardo wins Canadian Grand Prix - News - SportsFan
Awesome effort, great to see a Aussie up the pointy end.Must be very hard for that arrogant tool vettel to put up with.
I don't want to get carried away but i think this young bloke has a very bright future ahead of him.I just hope the bull**** politics and toxic enviroment that vettel brings to the team doesn't affect him.
A great win for a great young Aussie.
Pickles.
I don't think his feet have touched the ground yet.
How long since Alan Jones?
Set the alarm and got up at 3AM to watch it, so glad I did.
A great effort, Vettel actually seemed pleased for him after the event.
I have no time for Vettel, win at all costs is not sporting, defying team orders to beat your (no, not beat him, simply finish ahead of him) team mate is not the action of a true sportsman.
Good driver yes, sportsman NO.
Great to see a sport, and an Aussie, and a good driver take it to the world again.
Go Danny.
