Motor racing, Mountain bike riding.
Mostly mountain bike riding. Downhill, cross country and general stuffing around.
Also motorbikes
Motorcycling, motorcycling and motorcycling with the odd bout of motorcycling thrown in for good measure Just finished my second rebuild on my 2000 Kawasaki ZX-12R and shes now pumping out some good HP so i guess speed is another hobby  heh. Must say that it and the Old dog make an odd couple in the shed!
Well as some of you may be aware I'm a Reg/Nurse but my hobbies are far flung from that, I have my own workshop with a metal turning lathe, small mill/drill, pedastal drill and hundreds of Taps and Dies, compressor, grit blaster, Oxy, Mig, Arc welders, etc etc. I've had Landrovers since 1970 when I bought my first one, had experience in them before that though, I like tinkering with them (as you might have guessed) I have a Live Steam model Locomotive (over all length 5' 4") that I built in 5" gauge it's a NSWGR 32 class engine (4.6.0) it hasn't run on steam as yet but it runs on compressed air forward and reverse so if it will run on air (no expansion quality) it will run on steam when I get around to it, I also go camping (Ultra/lightweight), 4wd touring, fishing (sold my boats they died of thirst) still have 16' canoe and Minn-kota electric outboard when the urge takes me, used to own handguns until recently (sold them gun buy back gave me $10,600) to play with) still shoot with Long arms (rilfes) always have reloaded my own ammo and I've cast a hell of a lot of slugs over the years I still have about 3/4 ton of Linotype lead left over not sure what to do with that as yet. I also have a hankering for Photography still have and use my first 35mm SLR Pentax Spotmatic (have 3 x 35mmSLR's) medium format Mamiya 645 (beautiful camera) 3 video cams I really like the digital Panasonic, and the digital Sony camera qiuck and easy. I like to weld ( I aslo have a mate who is a certified/pressure etc) if I can't do it, I can't make a bloody thing out of wood except a fire, we have 2 toy poodles and a pomeranian they keep the wife busy and sometimes get on this thing called a computer which I'm not really any good at can't post pix etc but anyway thats me, Oh I almost forgot not interested in football etc will watch the start of Bathurst race (but in my humble opinion it's lost it's way) maybe I'm just an old fart (56) but I dont give a #$%^&   and I don't have a mortgage I only go to work to support my Habits Landrovers 8) 8)
That reminds me Dinty, i also do a but of shooting, more recreational hunting than target shooting, I have a brand new Ruger .223 bolt action rifle, and an old John Wayne eat your heart out leaver action .22. I also dont mind a bit of photography, but you just can beat those V8 supercars. Matt

Hi guys/gals,
Pretty much anything mechanical I can have a dig at, I love. I'm starting full time UNI next year to do mechanical engineering (to support my growing LR addiction). Have been in the SES for almost 3 years now, and have been a team leader for 2 of them. Love doing hands on stuff like chainsawing, rope work, etc. The usual camping and 4wding. Have been seriously contemplating doing a trip through central oz in the next year or so. I'd love to go down the west coast from darwin to perth (In my next LR - TD5 series 2 disco or D90).
I'm trying to learn to play the guitar atm, but re-training my clunky mechanics hands is proving a little difficult I love all things music, and am also a pretty keen film buff.
Dream job is to be a helicopter pilot, so I'll be working towards that in the next 50 years or so...
Knight, interesting you should mention the slowpitch comp. I used to work at 9 a not long ago, and some ex colleagues of mine were in the teams (there are 2 channel 9 teams now I think). They seemed to really enjoy it, especially because they were sponsored by the bridgeview hotel. A free case after every match!
Cheers all,
Bryan
SWS - It's that Small World Syndrome again Kretcheman!!
Yep, there are 2 Channel 9 teams playing with us this year! - too funny!
(Lets hope these teams keep the sledging 'low key' cause they dont want us to pipe up on em'! )
Sponsored huh?? (man- they had a case of VB last week)
Well I'll let you know how they go then - we play one team in Dec and the other in Jan...
Seriously, it's a great social comp - with more beer than I've ever seen
GAME ON!!
Cheers
Knight
