Absolutely! I'm from Canberra originally, and i thought it was only a small world there, but nope, it's everywhere...
It sounded like a very social comp to me. Beers in the out field during the game and all! Reminds me of a club cricket match I was watching one day when the non-striking batter had the umpire hold his ciggie for him when the bowler was on his run up
Aussie sport. How good is it...

Sound quite familiar
- Our catcher was asked to put his beer down whist catching
(ONLY cause we had lent him to our opposition as they were a player short - hmmm, will rethink that 'random act of kindness' next time i think)
- should have told them no! - we lend him to you and he plays with beer in hand or nothing!!
But, yes, it is very social if anything!
Cheers

Mine would have to be:
-- Rugby League (Go the Bunnies! although I use to have a soft spot for the Bears and saw many a game up at the 'Log Cabin' before they were put into permanent hibernation!).
-- Touch footy on Tuesday nights to stop the joints from seizing up.
-- Camping, fishing, photography.
-- Gardening, combined with drinking, listening to weekend sport on the radio.
