Praying for a Whincup DNF x 2
Hi all,
Who do we see winning this race guys? Bloody hard to pick after the epic Bathurst race with many teams showing good pace at times. One thing we can count on is Red Bull bouncing back, not very often they have two bad races in a row. And HRT would be very keen to make up for a shocking Bathurst. As ever i hope the Volvo's have a strong weekend, and going on the form of McLaughlin and Premat and the pace of the Volvo at the mountain they should do alright. Not sure if this track will suit the Nissan's but after a strong showing last race who knows? BJR had good cars but a weekend to forget. And you can't count out Tekno Motorsports, they were looking very strong until the starter motor issue. DJR were also going along alright till they suffered their race ending issues. A interesting stat for this event, only three teams have won this race over the last decade,888-9 wins,Walkinshaw Racing-7 wins,FPR-5 wins. Greg Murphy will celerbrate his 200th race this weekend joining a elite group of drives who have reached the 200 club,Murphy is the 10th driver to do it and the first non-Australian to reach the milestone.
Whats your thoughts guys?

Courtney or Whincup....maybe Loundes if he stays out of trouble and qualifies well. Then there is FPR.
But in reality, too hard to pick, especially after the surprises at Bathurst.
Should be another cracker with lots of carnage
With what happened at the mount it has injected a bit more interest in this weekends event, should be good, hoping for another good result for the blue oval brigade
A bit of a look around the teams.

Well, another brilliant weekend of racing and another weekend i wonder why people bag out the V8 supercars and the quality of racing. The most common thing i hear is bring back production racing. If a Mazda 6 racing a Hyundai Sonata gets you blood pumping i can see why the V8's would not be to your liking, far to much speed, close racing, excitement, drama, power, the series has never been closer than it is now. From first place to last place is about half a second, any team at any race is capable of winning. The sport had to evolve and where it has ended up is a very good place. Is it perfect? far from it,heaps more can be done. The introduction of Nissan,Mercedes,Volvo has been fantastic and i hope more manufacturers get involved. The V8 Supercars is one of if not the best Touring car series in the world. You don't hear many race car drivers have a childhood dream of driving a 2L Ford Mondeo around Brands Hatch,But you hear drives from around the world saying driving a V8 Supercar around Bathurst is a dream they had growing up,From guys like Jenson Button to Tony Stewart. These cars and this series must be doing something right. Have they lost the link to road cars? Well and truly, but at the same time there is no way we would have the racing we have today if that was still the case. Bring on Philip Island.
