Mr_Sav,
It sounds appealing, but I just bought a house yesterday, so I need the money for renovations. Enjoy your trip!

Gday Mr sav
Fairly keen diver myself, used to do it for a living at a large public aquarium down south. Spent a few hours every day for 7 years there in the water, god it was cold, have probably covered every km of vics coastline. Did my marine biology degree in SA dived the gulf looking for cuttlefish, leafy seadragons (awesome) and the white sharks have a few interesting photos if you want to see (of whites that is). Working with sharks on a daily basis makes one a bit over confident around them and I did some pretty silly stuff, grown up a bit now. Unfortunately had to sell the dive boat to finance my study for the next 4 years (what was I thinking). Only dive at work now part time got to get out and see some of this great barrier reef. BTW nice avatar of a southern blue devil.

The Bluey shot was taken along Seacliff Reef in about 10m. Not to many divers along there, particuarly this time of year now, so it was pretty curious. Had a good feed of scallops out of my hand.
Spotted 11 leafies along the Rapid Jetty, the largest number I have seen, so it is a good sign.
Fortunately have not hit a white yet, so keen to keep it that way for a while longer if I can.
If you get back down this way give me a hollar.
Regards.
I have an advanced open water certificate but havent dived for a few years, last dive was in lake Malawi in africa. Would love to go again or even get my own gear when the finance gods give us a break from disaster for a while.
We have a place in Phillip Island on the beach and a 12ft tinny to go further out.
